Honda's Prototype Walking Assist Device








Honda recently demonstrated two of its Walking Assist Devices protoypes. This walking assist devices is intended for people with difficulty in walking by themselves. The first device is called the Stride Management Assist. It is designed for people that can walked by themselves but may still need assistance due to weak leg muscles. It is a lighweight wearable device that is worn near the hips.

Sensors located near the hips monitors the user's walking motion and then process that information to determine the amount of timing and assistance to be provided.


The second device is called the Bodyweight Support Assist. It is also intended for people with difficulty walking and may also help with physically strenuous activities.
