Samsung has announced that the Samsung Mondi is now available commercially available. The Samsung MOndi is the first handheld wireless device that utilizes the WiMax standard. With its use of the Wimax standard it can reach download and upload speed of up to 2x as compared when using the current 3G standard.It has also a WIFI connectivity so that users can use it continuously when the device is out of Wimax coverage.It is available from Clearwire starting August 2009.
