Samsung's SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 Announced

Two new camcorders from Samsung has been announced. The SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 are the latest addition to Samsung's line of compact camcorders. The two camcorders features Samsung's Touch of Colorä (ToCa)finish. It has a 10x optical zoom coupled with Hyper Image Stabilization to help reduce blurry image even on the go. A 230,000-dot, swiveling 2.7-inch wide LCD screen, a Samsung’s Active Angle Lens that helps in reduced user's fatigue when handling the camcorder. The SMX-C14's memory storage is handled by a 16GB internal flash memory and is expandable via an SD/SDHC memory card slot. The SMX-C10 does not feature an internal memory but utilize a SD/SDHC media for its storage. An added bonus is Samsung’s play-edit-sharing program called intelli‑studio that enables users to connect the camcorder via usb to any PC without having to install a third party editing program. Watch Out RFID Big Brother is Watching!

Queralt , a company based in Connecticut USA is developing an RFID tag software that can monitor a persons behaviour based on the input data from an RFID tag. The RFID tag can be worn by a target person or an asset and data such as temperaturewill be taken from the RFID device will be fed into a database engine. As data are processed, baselines and behavioral patterns are created. Rules and metrics are created based on the baseline and if data from the sensors or RFID tags disagrees with the programmed rules and metrics, an alert will be raised. Nokia has announced that the 6120 classic will be available starting in the third quarter of 2009. The Nokia 6120 classic is the first phone with SIM based NFC enabled device to be marketed by Nokia. Honda's Prototype Walking Assist Device

Honda recently demonstrated two of its Walking Assist Devices protoypes. This walking assist devices is intended for people with difficulty in walking by themselves. The first device is called the Stride Management Assist. It is designed for people that can walked by themselves but may still need assistance due to weak leg muscles. It is a lighweight wearable device that is worn near the hips. Sensors located near the hips monitors the user's walking motion and then process that information to determine the amount of timing and assistance to be provided. The second device is called the Bodyweight Support Assist. It is also intended for people with difficulty walking and may also help with physically strenuous activities. Source: Honda World News

The Terminator Eye

What would you do if you have a prosthetic eye. Fit a Red LED into it to look like Arnold in the Terminator. Canadian filmmaker, Rob Spence who lost his eyesight during childhood has decided to fit a tiny camera into his prosthetic eyes so that anything in field of view of his vision will be recorded onto a computer.In the meantime that the wireless cam has not yet been built his team has fitted his eye with a Red LED ala The Terminator.
