Garmin nüvi 1690, A Social Networking GPS

The new Garmin nüvi 1690 is a portable navigation device that can connects to Ciao, Garmin's exclusive location based social networking service. Thru it's wireless module the Nuvi can connect to Garmin's nüLink! service where users can view information such as Google™ local search, traffic, weather, fuel prices, movie listings, flight status, local events, white page and the aforementioned Ciao. Besides being a portable navigation device , the Nuvi has a Bluetooth wireless technology that enables the users to place call within the device. This is done just by pairing it with over 200 bluetooth enabled phones.



The Garmin nüvi 1690 will retails for $499.99 in the US and will be available in the last quarter of this year.
