Death Knell for the Game Console: Onlive Game Service ™

Onlive, Inc. has announced the coming of a revolutionary game platform that does not require expensive and high-end hardware. The OnLive Game Service™ and OnLive MicroConsole™ was recently unveiled at the 2009 Game Developers Conference.

Once this service become live, gamers can play their favorite video games on demand without waiting for long downloads; it uses no disc and does not require regular upgrades. It can be played on any ordinary TV with the use of an inexpensive MicroConsole™, or an ordinary PC or Mac. It means gaming when you want it and where you want it. The Onlive MicroConsole™ that is about the size of a deck of cards easily connects to any TV and is operated by an Onlive wireless controller. Ordinary PC or Mac can also be used to play games in Onlive via a small browser plug-in from OnLive.com. Hardcore gamers don’t have to worry about buying expensive hardware just to play the latest and the most advanced game releases, be it solo or multiplayer.

Gamers should not have to worry about support because Onlive is supported by many of the top names in the video games industry including Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive Software, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, THQ Inc., Epic Games, Eidos, Atari Interactive and Codemasters.
